Notary Public Certificate Cancellation
In many cases, Notary Public certificates are surrendered due to personal reasons, workload, or professional commitments in other fields.
A notary public certificate may be cancelled if the notary engages in any unlawful activity, fails to perform duties in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations, voluntarily resigns from the position, or in the event of the notary’s death. In addition to these circumstances, an individual may also relinquish their notary public certificate at their own discretion if they wish to pursue another profession or discontinue notarial work.
Since the decision to relinquish the certificate is entirely voluntary and based on personal preference, such resignation is generally treated as a normal and legitimate process. In many cases, Notary Public certificates are surrendered due to personal reasons, workload, or professional commitments in other fields.
In contrast, it is rare for practicing lawyers to voluntarily surrender their law (bar) license, as the legal profession typically demands continuous engagement and long-term professional commitment.
