A Complete Story: My Journey with Notary Public Services in Kathmandu: Harish Rana

My journey of association with Mr. Krishna Prasai started in 2010 when I had initially approached him for translation and notary services. At the time, I was just looking for someone reliable who would be able to assist me with a few legal documents. In return, I found a trusted professional whose dedication, honesty, and knowledge have supported me for over ten years.

From the very first meeting, Mr. Prasai impressed me with his calm approach, clear explanations, and genuine interest in helping people. Whenever I brought him documents—be they personal papers, legal forms, contracts, or proxy letters—he handled everything with precision and care. His translations were precise; his notary certifications were flawless, and he always made it easier for me through his counseling. During those years, I learned he was not only a service provider but also a reliable partner regarding every legal or official problem I had faced.

Working with him, I came to understand how notary public services were important in Kathmandu. A notary public is not just a person who stamps papers. According to the Notary Public Act 2063, he acts as an impartial witness, checks authenticity, certifies documents, and verifies that important papers are legally valid. In Kathmandu, when people have to deal with government offices, embassies, courts, banks, and international institutions, the role of a notary becomes important.

I have witnessed this myself. Be it immigration, verification of property, attestation of educational certificates, or international submission, he always made sure that everything was legally sound and accepted by the concerned authorities. His knowledge of legal procedures, embassy requirements, and document standards saved me countless hours and prevented many possible mistakes.

He has frequently spoken, during my visits, on various aspects of the notary system in Kathmandu: how Anamnagar is the center for all legal activities, how New Road, Durbar Marg, Putalisadak, and Kamaladi have a host of authorized notaries, and how online notarization has now become an important expedient for busy people and those residing abroad. He told me how uploading documents online, verification on digital platforms, and remote notarization are making life easier for students, professionals, and international clients.

But, beyond all these modern alternatives, I always favored visiting him. His professionalism, warm nature, and attention to detail instilled a trust that no technology can replace. He carefully examined every document, verified identities, explained legal terms, and made sure that the notarization process—identity check, witness arrangement, oath administration, signing, sealing, and registration-was smoothly and correctly done.

Through the years, I have watched how seriously he respects the duties entrusted to him as a notary public. He strictly follows standards that the Nepal Notary Public Council lays down and keeps himself updated on changing elements of the law, treating each client, ordinary or corporate, with similar seriousness. Whether big or small, every document occupies equal prominence.

This professional relationship that I have enjoyed with Mr. Prasai for a little over ten years now has always been among the surest relationships in my life. What started as a simple need for translation and notarization developed into a long journey of trust, support, and top-notch service.

Even to this day, if anyone asks me where to go for reliable notary or translation work in Kathmandu, I always say the same thing: “Go to Mr. Krishna Prasai. He will take care of everything.”
